10.8.20 Spiced Apple Butter

Hi friends!! I hope you all had an amazing weekend and your week is going well. I went on an apple picking adventure this past weekend which has led to this recipe and so many other recipe ideas! We climbed trees, picked too many apples, ate delicious food, and had the best time:

However, now that I have so many apples, I need to start using them up! The first thing I’ve done is this spiced apple butter. It’s so good! Just enough warm spices to give it a kick, but still allow the apple flavor to come through. It’s so easy to make and your entire home smell like fall and happiness! It does take a while, but most of that time is letting your crock pot do its thing. You can definitely leave it chunky, or you can make it smooth like most apple butters you see. Whichever you prefer! This amount of apples completely filled up my mini crock pot, but if you have a big one you can definitely make a double batch. It freezes super well, so you can have apple butter until next apple season!

I love to eat it on biscuits or any other bread – plain cake donuts are an excellent apple butter vehicle – but get creative with it! I’m hoping to incorporate it in some upcoming bakes, it should be delicious. Let me know what you come up with, or if you have any fav apple recipes you’d like to see! I’m full of ideas, but always happy to get some more 🙂
